Make Your Own Lazy Susan
Hi, Remodelaholic peeps! It’s Jessica from Mom 4 Real back with an easy DIY project for under $20! Here in our home, we have spent the summer traveling, swimming, golfing and cooking out a ton! Now that the kiddos have gone back to school, we have moved our meals from the patio back into the dining room. I just love hearing the kids tell us about there days, and getting back into a routine. What I do NOT love however is being asked to pass the ketchup or salt and pepper every 5 seconds. So, I fixed this problem by making a lazy Susan for the middle of our table. It has made our meals much more enjoyable and much less hectic! Here is what we used to make a lazy Susan…

Supplies:
A prefabbed round piece of pine (found at Home Depot for $7)
A rotating spice holder (Found at Target for $4 — but here’s a similar one on Amazon)
Stain or Paint
Bonding Glue
First, start by painting or staining your piece of pine. I chose to stain mine since my table is already white. I used pre-loaded stain cloths which literally only took 3 minutes. I slipped on my gloves, wiped the stain on and let dry overnight.
Once the stain was dry, I used a heavy duty multi-surface glue to adhere the top of the spice holder to the bottom of the stained piece of wood. I let this dry overnight as well.
Once dried, I placed it in the middle of the table and added a cute centerpiece as well as our salt and pepper shakers for daily use.
And for regular dinners, we can place a pizza on the stone (using a trivet of course), place our ketchup and mustard there on burger night, or set out all of the toppings for taco night…the possibilities are endless! I love that with a small turn of the lazy Susan, each family member can help themselves!

I love this idea but cannot find the round pine or the spice rack anywhere. Do they sell them online so that you can link to them by any chance? Thanks.
You could just use the rotating spice rack and keep it simple
I really need to make one of these. We have a 6 foot round table (a folding table) that seats 10. It’s really hard to pass anything, because it has to go ALL the way around the table. A lot of our kids are really young and it stops in front of them, so we have to tell EACH child to keep passing it. Sometimes I just get up, walk around and get it myself. We need it to be between 32 and 36 inches to be handy. Did they sell pine rounds this big?
