Home for Christmas; Trees

There’s no place like home for the holidays…sing it with me, folks!  It’s true, there’s something extra special about being with the ones you love at home when December rolls around.  I’m excited to take a little detour from the rooms I usually feature each Friday with the “Home Sweet Home on a Budget” series, to focus on the traditions and decorations that makes December such a special and memorable time to enjoy our own homes.

First, though, I want to share some of theprojects from last week’s Fun Spaces Linkup that I got excited about.

I loved the “chillax” sign in the new family room at The Caldwell Project.  Perfect for a family’s fun space!

At Creative Juices, you can take a look at an open basement that has been nicely divided for different activities.  I loved the family gallery wall down there.

There were two rooms linked up by From New House to Home and they are so nice I have to share both.  A comfy basement family room that was decorated by shopping the house, and a colorful upstairs playroom for their daughters.

Okay, here’s the thing about Home Sweet Home for the Holidays:  I want to have the December linkup party a little early.  Usually it’s the last Friday of the month….but since this linkup is going to be all about our holiday projects and decorations and traditions, hosting it after Christmas seems a little anti-climatic.  I’d like to invite you linkup your seasonal projects on Friday, December 21st.

Is one of your traditions a Christmas tree?  Have you decorated yours, yet?  Here’s a confession:  I’d love to shadow Santa on the job one Christmas Eve, just so that I could have a good excuse for looking at everyone’s Christmas decorations!  I loving seeing how many beautiful ways there are to celebrate the season.  Let me show you some of the Christmas trees I’ve been crushing on in blogland, lately.

Birds of a Feather Tree from At the Picket Fence
