This month we are featuring a printable pineapple word art, a symbol of welcome and hospitality. The story dates back to the days of Christopher Columbus who “discovered” the sweet fruit on his journeys in the Caribbean. Good ol’ Chris brought the fruit back to Europe. However, due to the fact that it would often spoil before finishing the trek to Europe, the pineapple quickly became a symbol of status and privilege. Often times families would put it out on display for only their finest guests. While the pineapple has become more readily available through the years, it is still used as a symbol of welcome and hospitality.
This month’s printable features a proud pineapple with typography weaved throughout it’s crown. It’s the perfect print to welcome your guests to your home. I printed mine out for use in my guest bedroom, but it would also look great in the kitchen or entry way.
