I am not sure what happened, last week was still fairly warm, and overnight, the cold hit! We have been wearing jackets and sweatshirts and anything to help us feel a bit of warmth! We hope everything that experienced a hotter than normal summer is also feeling the weather cool off! We are thrilled for Fall and can’t wait to start sipping hot cocoa while sitting in front of a fire!

There are so many details that go into a home that you may not consider all of your options while doing an update. My sister was recently building a house, and knew what kind of light switches she wanted, but when they put them in, they weren’t what she had wanted. She said, “They never brought it up to me, and I never thought to bring it up to them because I assumed they would be the kind I wanted.” You definitely have to think about and specify every small detail. With DIY, it’s important to think through the whole project so that you don’t end up doing something twice. You don’t want to paint an island if you are just going to cover it with shiplap later on. So today we are going beyond the paint and sharing kitchen updates that you’ll want to think about before finishing your kitchen makeover.
A stunning way to add character to your kitchen is by Updating a Plain Kitchen Island or Peninsula with Planks and Corbels.
